Role & Responsibilities:

As the Senior AMS Design Engineer / Circuit Designer, you will have the responsibility to provide technical leadership for challenging R&D projects using state-of-the-art technologies, and actively contribute to the development of the Encore Semi engineering community, and participate to the company technical strategy.

Working in collaboration with Encore Semi’s customers, you will be part of the Encore Semi project team performing design and supervising layout of AMS IPs. The team is focusing on building complex IPs for advanced FinFET fabrication technologies. A successful candidate is creative and enjoys working independently, operate as a self-starter, and has strong background in analog mixed-signal circuit design.

As a senior team member, you will be working on high performance circuits including high frequency analog phase-locked loops, Fractional-N synthesizers, voltage controlled oscillators, and high-speed buffers that will be used in applications such as high-speed SerDes IP and Silicon Photonics products. Your expertise in circuit design and layout in state-of-the-art fabrication technologies will be crucial for successful completion of these projects. Additionally, you will have career development opportunities in both the technical domain and leadership domain.

Required Qualifications & Responsibilities:

• BSEE required, MSEE preferred with 7+ years of expertise in high performance analog mixed-signal circuit design   
• Experience with analysis of high-speed analog circuits (10 GHz or higher), including knowledge of jitter analysis and control
• Experience performing functional simulations for phase locked-loop (PLL) and various PLL sub-circuits
• Perform cross-PVT simulations for PLL as well as Rj / Dj analysis
• Work jointly with team lead to perform PLL loop level stability analysis and phase noise analysis   
• Background shall include work with FinFET technologies 22nm to 7nm
• Good working knowledge of Cadence Spectre simulator including APS EM / IR analysis
• Experienced with developing specifications and design documentation
• Strong communication and inter-personal skills, developing/driving concepts and ideas with other team members  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with analog mixed-signal verification
• Experience with MDL scripting  
• Proficient in custom IC layout using Cadence Virtuoso for layout edits  
• Experience with tools and CAD environment for mixed-signal designs
