Summary
Join the growing Encore Semi H/W Development team to collaborate with customers to design, verify and enable system level development for current and next generation SOCs.  You would join a team delivering on many facets of the implementation of these SOCs including RTL / Microarchitecture Development, System Level Validation, IP qualification and characterization of state-of-the-art designs. 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities/Functions/Tasks
 
As a member of H/W Engineering Team you will be responsible for bench characterization of Digital High-Speed Physical Layer SERDES functions (USB, SATA, PCIe, SGMII) as well as high speed I/O pads, and PLLs. The objective is to ensure quality products that are manufacturable, and exceed the performance expectations of our customer.
 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Board design including transmission line theory
  • Experience with High-Speed signal integrity, de-embedding, and port extension
  • Hands on knowledge of oscilloscopes, network / spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and logic analyzers
  • Software programming skills including C-Sharp (or equivalent) and LabView
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with System on Chip and Server domain high speed bench characterization
  • Experience with digital communication concepts as well as SerDes architecture 
  • Ability to work with common test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, time interval analyzer, logic analyzer, network analyzer, etc)
  • Experience with Keysight test equipment 
  • Experience with high-speed interfaces such as PCI Express, SATA, USB, SGMII  
  • Familiarity with design for test (DFT) techniques and structural tests such as Scan/ATPG, JTAG, SDF/TDF
  • HSIO ATE experience is a plus
  • Experience with C/C++, Perl, Python
 
Education Requirements
  • Required: Bachelor's, Electrical Engineering, and 5+ years of domain experience
  • Preferred: Master's, Electrical Engineering, and High Speed Digital Design and Test experience
