Summary

Encore Semi is growing our Functional Safety (FuSa) Engineering Center of Expertise and is seeking FuSa Engineering and Validation experts to drive this growth.  While FuSa is a critical element in products for many market segments, Encore Semi CoE is focused primarily at collaborating with customers targeting Automotive silicon designs.  This team is led by an Industry expert and contributor to the ISO 26262 standard; and comprised of expert engineers that are working jointly with customers on next generation designs.  Joining this team enables you to focus on all aspects of safety verification for Automotive SoCs and IPs – HW random fault coverage and validation according to the FuSa lifecycle.  Join the Encore Semi FuSa Engineering team to be on the forefront of definition, design/validation and methodology, in this exciting and fast-growing field.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities/Functions/Tasks:

Members of Encore Semi FuSa CoE are responsible for collaborating on a variety of engineering services across all phases of the Development Cycle (Definition, Design and Verification), to create ISO 26262 compliant designs.  As a lead, you will participate from the Functional Safety Concept and Technical Safety Concept of IP / SOC / System through design and verification for next-gen products.  As part of your role, you're responsible for the definition, planning and review of verification activities related to safety metrics including safety verification plan of SoCs and components used in FuSa critical applications and Automotive systems.  During this Safety Verification phase you will collaborate with customer teams to infuse technical leadership during the execution of safety requirement validation with respect to HW random failures, implement processes/procedures and document fault simulation results required for Safety certifications; as well as instilling in the customer teams a “Safety Culture”.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BSEE/MSEE with 7+ years of relevant working experience in functional safety validation.
• An experienced Lead with strong hardware, software and technical leadership skills; with strong experience in SoC / IC validation planning and execution.
• Experience in conducting in-depth Fault Propagation Analysis, Simulation and Formal Random Fault Verification, and Formal/Dynamic coverage metrics.
• In-depth knowledge of  ARM / AMBA AXI architectures, related SW and FW; also, basic knowledge on reliability as applied to ICs.
• Knowledgeable in SoC architecture definition, and Functional Safety architectures -- e.g., Loosely Coupled Lock-Step; Fabric with ECC, Protocol Checkers, STL, etc.
• Knowledge of Functional Safety and related standards -- ISO 26262 and/or IEC 61508.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with MBSE-based Safety Verification is plus.
• Experience putting Functional Safety Validation methodologies in place to enable validation & verification team's execution on functional safety designs – experience instilling a “safety culture” across a design organization.
• Experience with ANSYS Medini Analyze.
