About the Team:
Our growing Encore Semi Design and Verification teams collaborate with customers in the development of ultralow-power wireless IoT chips (MESH network). Joining our team, you will work jointly with radio architects, starting with creating uArchitecture spec from MATLAB models through design implementation and verification. (Two available positions for Sr Digital Design and Verification engineers.)
About the Project:
As a member of this fast-growing team, your broad experience in design and verification will enable you to work effectively with the radio Architect and other design and verification engineers to implement the digital logic – taking it from MATLAB models into RTL in Verilog.  You will implement modulation schemes, and filtering and decimation techniques consistent to ultralow-power applications; as well, performing the initial synthesis of the design and work with back-end engineers to incorporate their feedback into the RTL.  You’ll also be involved with verification and will devise test-cases to stress the data/signal path implementation (modulation/demodulation, filtering and decimation), as well as the logical controller.  Due to the ultralow-power requirements, you will also be involved in verifying that implementation will achieve the required power intents and modes.
Minimum Qualifications:
• 5+ years of RTL design and/or verification experience
• Knowledgeable in techniques and concepts related to 802.15.4 designs – modulation schemes (FSK, BPSK, etc.), Turbo codes, CIC Filters, etc.
• Experience in taking MATLAB (fixed-point) models to create design and verification specifications
• Experience in ultralow-power and power-management techniques required for battery operated designs with low duty-cycle operations
• Demonstrated strong experience in design and verification involving filtering and decimation using CIC filters and integrated COMB design, demodulation/synchronization, turbo decoder, etc.
• Experience with directed testing Verification of logical blocks, preferably using System Verilog to create test content
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Synopsys tools (DC, Verdi, etc.)
• While most of this Verification will be done using directed tests in System Verilog, you may also be advising the team on the value and requirements for implementing a UVM-based environment
• Knowledge of Analog Mixed-Signal (AMS) Verification techniques including behavioral modeling (SV-Real) of analog blocks and incorporating them into digital simulation environments
Education Requirements:
• Required: Bachelor's, Electrical Engineering
• Preferred: Master's, Electrical Engineering
