About the Team:
In support of the high-demand from our customers, the Encore Semi Physical Design Group is expanding and recruiting new members in the area of implementation of SoCs and complex IP. The focus of this team is use state-of-the-art methodologies and flows to implement complex, high speed analog and high-speed digital circuits for Processors, SoCs, and ASICs. We partner with the top-tier SoC companies to implement designs from RTL to tape-out, on today’s most complex process technologies, using the latest EDA tools and physical implementation methodologies.
About the Project:
As a member of the growing Next Generation Design and Layout team, the ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Physical Design methodologies. You will be responsible for executing tasks such as synthesis, floorplanning, place and route and Physical Verification. Applicants must have extensive experience in this area and proven ability using the industry standard design tools associated with these tasks.
Minimum Qualifications:
• At least 7 years of experience with industry standard Physical Design tools and tape-outs
• Experience with block-level and full chip physical design, netlist to GDSII
• Synthesis and placement-driven synthesis, Clock Tree Synthesis (CTS)
• Scan re-ordering
• Power/Performance/Area estimation
• In-depth understanding of memory structures
• Experience in Physical Design, including power grids, clock network implementation, floorplanning, and place & route
• Timing closure and sign-off experience
• Power optimization and sign-off experience
• Experience with Synopsys synthesis, timing and P&R tools
• Extensive Scripting / Flow Automation skills
• Good communications skills
• Scripting proficiency with Python, Perl, TCL or other scripting language
Preferred Qualifications:
• Extensive participation in multiple successful large-scale tape-outs
• Experience with Cadence LEC tool
• Experience with Calibre for physical verification
• Experience with Apache RedHawk power analysis  
Education Requirements:
• BSEE required
• MSEE preferred
