Position Title: RFIC Layout Designer
Location: Bay Area, CA
Status: Full-time

About the Team:

In support of the high-growth in Wireless development, the Analog & RF Design group is expanding and recruiting additional team members. The focus of this team is to implement complex, high-frequency, low power SoC designs across multiple application areas.  We partner with the top-tier SoC companies to implement designs from architecture and design to tapeout, on today’s most complex process technologies, using the latest EDA tools and design methodologies.

About the Project:

As part of growing our Analog & RF Development team, and in support of a customer partnership, we are hiring additional RF and Analog Layout Engineers.  You’ll be a member of the RFIC team focusing on custom layout of designs at both blocks and chip-level, and working closely with designers to ensure area and performance constraints are met.  In this role, you will also contribute advanced RF-specific layout techniques, such as waveguides, L/C impedance mismatch compensation and trade-offs with distortion.  A successful candidate is creative and enjoys working independently, operate as a self-starter, and has strong layout experience in various analog/RF configurations, including tough matching, impedance mismatch, compensation for test-points and I/O pads/ESD structures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Expertise in CMOS custom IC layout in several of the following of the following: ADCs/DACs, PLLs, Filters (both CT and SC), LNAs, Quadrature LO Generators, Up-Conversion Mixers, VGAs, PAs, RF Switches.
• Good understanding of the issues and challenges related to signal distortion / linearity.
• Demonstrated deep understanding and prior experience in custom IC layout for various analog and RF blocks and chips -- DRC/LVS, parasitic extractions of the layouts, parasitic implications/minimization, all the checks as needed to release a chip to manufacturing.
• Strong communication and inter-personal skills, developing/driving concepts and ideas with other team members and across other parts of a large organization.
• BSEE/MSEE (or related discipline) preferred, but not required.
